Phase 1 of construction consisted of milling and paving operations to restore Folly Road and lasted for one week in March 2016.
Phase 2 began in April 2016 with construction of drainage and road modifications to Camp Road and the right side of Folly Road. Traffic was shifted in these areas and temporary paint was applied.
Phase 3 construction began in the spring of 2017 with storm drainage and curb and gutter work on the right side of Folly Road from the beginning of the project to the Camp Road Intersection and from True Value Hardware around the right side of Rivers Point Row. Once the curb and gutter is complete, the area between the curb and the existing roadway will be paved with base course as part of this phase.
Phase 4 construction also began in the spring of 2017 with storm drainage and curb and gutter work on the left side of Folly Road from the beginning of the project to the end of the project. Phase 4 includes Eugene Gibbs Street and the left side of Rivers Point Row. This phase includes traffic signal work that will allow for Eugene Gibbs Street to be shifted to the north to better align the intersection with Rivers Point Row. Once all the curb and gutter is complete the area between the curb and gutter and the existing roadway will be paved with base course.
Phase 5 will include the final pavement placement and pavement markings. All lanes will be opened in the final configuration and the traffic signals will be placed in the final operating scheme. Raised concrete islands will be constructed in this phase, and final project dress up and grassing will be accomplished in this phase as well.

As part of our commitment to the public, the project team is minimizing any daytime work that will adversely affect traffic. Areas where lane closures are required to safely perform our work will be done at night with lane closures to provide adequate room to perform the work. Items that can be expected to be performed at night are underground drainage work, concrete work within one foot of the existing roadway or where concrete delivery or equipment cannot safely access the areas, asphalt paving, overhead signal work and traffic pavement marking. Many utility relocations will also be performed at night to minimize the effects to the travelling public as well as the utility customers.
